Intermediate level piste skier
WJ's rating of this ski:
Considering his skiers profile:
"I like to ski comfortably on piste, but the ski's stability is important. After 3 decades of skiing I am experienced and my technique is fine. I go faster than average, but I don't push it to the limit. And I like a ski that looks cool."
My favourite piste skis:
1. Head i.Supershape Rally
2. Head Prestige
3. Salomon X-Race 165cm

Performance and quality looks
The Head Premium is an even more pure piste ski than the Head Prestige. It has quality all over. The ski is agile and precise, just below race department skis so I think a performance mark on it is quite correct. The Premium ski can be skied comfortable and quite relaxed. It slides easy out of turns if you want. What I especially liked about this classy ski is that it has quite an edge hold too when you carve it. Saying that, the Head Premium is a lot better in shorter turns. Not a ski for expert skills, but a lot of recreational skiers will have a good one with the Premium. Stay on the prepared slopes around the resort, take your brake every now and then, and speed up when you want. Nice! Head Premium is a 4 star ski to me.
The Looks. Besides that, you can ski on them and fast too. Back to the looks. Cool. The Head Premium ski is what I want to be seen with to relax and drink a champagne. To stroll through the village to the lift. This is when my Rolex feels comfortable. My Ferrari suddenly allows a roof rack. Well, I guess you got my point :).
Head about the Premium
"The state of the art. The perfect combination of HEAD’s most brilliant technologies, packed into a sophisticated design.
HEAD’S THEORY OF RELATIVITY.
Ski performance is not an absolute measure. What you want out of a ski always depends on how and where you ride. On hard-packed slopes you want perfect edge grip. On soft snow, you want more maneuverability. Breaking the slope record you want your ski to perform differently than when you’re just cruising with your friends or family. Adaptive HEAD Intelligence Technology helps your ski perform perfectly - both relative to terrain and your individual riding mode.
HOW IT WORKS
Intellifibers positioned at 45° in front of the binding transform mechanical impulses into electrical energy. The harder you ride, the more energy is produced. The electrical energy is led back to the Intellifibers. This causes them to stiffen up, putting more rebound and torsional stiffness into the ski.
WHAT IT DOES
Their 45° position in front of the binding increases the ski’s torsional stiffness, pushing the edge into the snow in hard turns. Intelligence progressively stabilizes the entire ski at high speeds.
INTELLIGENCE CHIP TECHNOLOGY - THE EXTRA BOOST
Some HEAD high-end skis boast Intelligence Chip Technology. Here, the electrical energy produced by the Intellifibers is not just recycled, but accumulated and released bit by bit through a pre-programmed chip – individually timed to match the oscillation properties of the ski. Thus, the effect of Intelligence is multiplied, providing even more performance relative to your skiing style.", according to Head. I like the performance and the looks, a quality product.
Head Prestige: relaxter performance ski in softer snow too, cool looks as well.
Rossignol Pursuit 14 AR Basalt: relaxed but agile piste carver for moderate speed.
Head i.Supershape Speed: very fast and precise piste ski, tends to racing.
